Greensburg United Methodist Church
Green Good Neighbors is a non-profit organization in Southern Summit County whose purpose is to assure that low-income families in this area (Green, Coventry, New Franklin and part of Springfield) are provided, once a month, with an emergency food order, gently used clothing as well as household items.
We are open for clients every Wednesday from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm.
Good Neighbors was founded by a school nurse, Laura McClure in 1957. She saw there were children coming to school who lacked decent clothing, shoes and warm coats. With the help of a friend, she established an organization to help those who need assistance. This organization became Good Neighbors.
Our unit has been operating for over 40 years at Greensburg United Methodist Church who provide the space. Unpaid volunteers, representing many different religions come every Wednesday to assure that families are able to get food, clothing and items that they need.
We are supported entirely by donations from churches, organizations and individuals in the community. You could help Good Neighbors by donating money, gently used clothing, shoes and household items.
Please remember Good Neighbors when you clean out that attic or garage.
We would love to take any useable items which may be dropped off at the rear of the Greensburg United Methodist Church, every Wednesday from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm. For large items like furniture, washers and dryers, etc., you may call 330-899-9880 on Wednesday mornings and leave your name and number. There is a waiting list for these items which will be picked up at your convenience.
