Religions Of The World
Have you ever wondered how Christianity is different than other religions of the world? Beginning on the first Sunday in January, and continuing through February 8th, Rev. Mitch will present a series titled "When Jesus Meets Buddha, Confucius, and Mohommed: Christianity In A Multi-Religious World". The Sermon schedule is as follows: Jan. 4 - Christianity At The Crossroads, Jan. 11- Hinduism, Jan. 18- Islam, Jan. 25 - Buddhism, Feb. 1 - Judaism, Feb. 8 - The Christ Of Christianity. Invite someone to join in!!
Dr. Bruce Barnes To Speak
On January 18th and 25th during the Sunday School hour (9:30-10:30), Dr Bruce Barnes, a Mid-East Archaeologist and specialist in the mid-east region, will speak in Fellowship Hall. During that time, he will not only educate us about mid-east faith, but answer any questions you may have about what's going on in the mid-east.
Choir Car Washes Can Be Picked Up In Church Office
Thank you to all who helped our choir by ordering Car Washes again this year. All tokens that have been ordered are in. If you have not yet picked up your car wash token, you can pick them up in the Church office during normal office hours. We will not be taking any new orders. Once again, thank you to all who ordered Car Washes for supporting our Choir and to Splash and Dash for making this fundraiser available to us again this year.
UMW Spaghetti Dinner And Talent Show
How about it? Can you set up tables and chairs? How about stir a pot, bake some cupcakes, pass out fliers in your neighborhood, or deliver a meal to a shut-in? Any chance you play the mandolin, dance a jig? Do you enjoy a good spaghetti dinner? Like to laugh a lot and have fun? All of these talents are needed and will be very much appreciated on Saturday, January 31 at the Spaghetti Dinner and Talent Show sponsored by our own United Methodist Women with proceeds going to our important mission work here in Green, our local area and the world. By the way, we already have some singers, clog dancers, and piano players to entertain so you know you won’t be flying solo—but we still need YOU and your special talent!
Please show your support by buying your tickets, planning to be there and having a whole lot of fun. You can come anytime between 4:30 and 7:00, eat, and stay as long as you’d like to enjoy the talent. Tickets will fit right into your budget at $6. for adults, $4. for kids 12 and under, except for the 2 and under set and they’re FREE! Oh, and take out is available if you like.

From time to time we send emails to our members to remind them of special events happening in our Church. For example, we sent one out reminding everyone about having one combined service and our Thanksgiving Dinner. If you did not receive that email, we do not have your email address. If you would like us to add you to our email list, so you can be kept informed of any special events or church news, please send your email address to greensburgumc@yahoo.com and we will get you added.
