Our Church Vision: To be the Bridge that connects people to Christ and One another.

Our Team Objective: To have people say about Greensburg United Methodist Church, "I can't imagine my life without it"

The Vision and Objective of Greensburg United Methodist Church's CareRing Team is to create a Welcoming and careing atmosphere that helps Build the Bridge that connects people to Christ.

We have meetings every couple of months and are always looking for volunteers to work within our different programs. If you have any questions, please fill free to contact any of our individual program leaders listed below, Mike and Cindi McWhorter, CareRing Team Leaders, or send an email to

Card Ministry Program - Debbie Lyle & Elle Mackey
Our Card Ministries Program sends cards to our Congregation members on special days. Birthdays, Get Well, Congratulations, etc., are always good reasons to get a card. If you would like to donate extra cards that you may have laying around, please contact Deb Lyle.

Homebound Members Coordinator - Nancy Pennington
Our goal is to keep in touch with those members of our Church who are in nursing homes, or are unable to attend church on their own. Throughout the year, the team meets at the church and assembles baskets, baked goods, flowers, etc., to be personally delivered to these members homes. We also are in the process of remembering their Birthdays with a card or small gift, and a personal visit be a team volunteer.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer team member or if you know someone that is unable to attend Church regularly, please contact Nancy Pennington.

Transportation Services Coordinator - Judy Hetzel
Our volunteer transportation service helps provide transportation to those in need. For example, You talked to your doctor and he needs to see you, but your regular transpotation is not available, contact us and we may be able to match you with a volunteer driver to get you to that appointment. If you have the time and would like to be a volunteer for Transportation Services, or a need arises and you need a lift, contact Judy Hetzel.

College Connection - Pam Dieffenbaugher & Debbie Lyle
This program keeps our Congregation in touch with our youth that have gone to attend Colleges and Universities around the country. We not only send cards, but small care packages of goodies from home. If you know of a college student that is not on our list, or you would like to donate to the program, contact Pam Dieffenbaugher or Debbie Lyle

Care-Ring Meals Ministry - Arlene Mumm
Volunteers provide meals to families who are facing a challenging time in their lives. This would include: during an illness, after surgery, someone in hospice care, grieving the loss of a loved one, and sometimes with the birth of a baby or another special need. People who have volunteered are asked to make a meal for someone in need, on a rotating basis, not more than once every three months. The meals are basic so you don't have to be a gourmet cook to be a part of this ministry. If you need this kind of help or know someone who does, or you would like to volunteer to help, please contact Arlene Mumm.

Responding to Newcomers/Church Tours Program - Brian Fullmer & Eric Johnson
Current members and visitors are encouraged to see our Church through a tour. Sometimes people are unaware of what the church has to offer or where certain places are in the building. It is always more comfortable to go places that are familiar to you. Brian Fullmer and Eric Johnson, are available after each Church Service to take you on a Church Tour.

Welcome Tables Coordinator - Eileen Cowgar
We have two locations for our Welcome Tables, upstairs in the Sanctuary greeting area, and downstairs outside the Fellowship Hall. All the information for a visitor or new member can be located there. Not only will a visitor find brochures and pamphlets with information about our Church, but an actual Church member, who can point them in the right direction or answer any questions they may have. If you are looking for information about our Church or would like to be a Welcome tabe volunteer on a Sunday morning, please contact Eileen Cowgar.
