Bereavement Support Group

GOOD GRIEF
BEREAVEMENT AND GRIEF SUPPORT

The Fall Session of “Good Grief” will begin on September 30 and meet every Thursday for seven sessions.  We will meet from 6:30 to 8:30pm in the Church Parlor.  The people in the group form a supportive bond with each other and often continue to meet, just to touch base to see how the others are doing.  A few people have started the group more than once before they felt they could complete the workshop.  That is just fine.   People need to go at their own pace.  At this point we have had a number of these workshops and they have been very helpful for almost everyone.

  We cover such topics as “How to Respond to People Who Are Well-Meaning But Say Things That Hurt”, “The Good Memories We Have of Our Lost One”, “Anger”, “Guilt and the Things We Wish We Had Done or Said”, “Difficulty Sleeping”, “Maintaining Our Health as We Go Through the Grief Process”, and finally, “How Do We Move On Into a New Life”.

If you or someone you know is struggling with grief and the loss of a loved one, this group can be very helpful.  If the person grieving is someone you know, come with them for a few times until they become comfortable with being in the group.  This is one of the greatest gifts and expressions of Christian love you can give another person.
